Beginning with the 2005-2006 school year, it is my privilege to have been teaching in the Washington
Catholic Schools for 40 years. My teaching career began at St. Mary Elementary School in
Washington in 1966. When the two Catholic elementary schools consolidated in 1974, I began
teaching at Washington Catholic Elementary. During my tenure, I have taught grades one through
four. For the past several years I have been teaching second grade.

My Catholic education began in Loogootee, Indiana where I attended elementary and high school at St.
John School. I received a Bachelor's Degree from Oakland City University and a Master's Degree
from Indiana State University.

When I reflect on my teaching experience, I am most grateful for being able to help my students in
their faith journey. Helping to prepare the children for First Reconciliation and First Communion has
helped me to grow in my faith. What a blessing it has been for me to teach at Washington Catholic
Elementary!
